At APA, we train our students for a career in the performance industry. We give them the proper tools so they are able to have longevity within a performance career, if that is what they choose. With the help of our “sister company,” DITR Productions, we are able to give our students the opportunity to perform in live musical theatre productions, and to be able to work under the direction, musical direction, and/or choreography of true professionals in this business.
All cast members are all put through a professional, rigorous audition process, where they are made to sing, dance, and often read from a script, in front of the determining casting directors. If chosen to be cast in the show, they then go through an intensive rehearsal schedule, where they learn their blocking, dance, and music, and also learn memorization, character development, poise, and professionalism, so as to better prepare them for a career in Musical Theatre. Commitment to the entire process is the key to success.
Diamond In The Rough Productions holds approximately 2-3 shows a year, and rehearses only on the weekends (Fridays thru Sundays), with the exception of Tech Week (which rehearses onstage in the performance venue). The focus is on family entertainment, at a community theatre level, while teaching our students to have fun, yet work hard towards a unified goal.
Prior to our shows, we will always post upcoming audition and performance information below.
