Born and raised right here in Central O`ahu, Kristi has been integral in the growth of theatre and dance in this area of the island, since returning from a successful professional musical theatre and choreography career in New York City!

Having worked professionally both onstage and off, she has worked in over 75 productions locally, nationally, and internationally.

Some of her favorites include Earth Mother/Dance Captain in MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL (First National Tour/West Coast Premiere), Queen of Hearts/Assistant Music Director on tour in ALICE IN WONDERLAND (Symphony Space Theatre- Broadway, NY/National Tour), and Choreographer for BYE BYE BIRDIE (New York, NY).

Locally, you may remember Kristi from such roles as Vi Moore in FOOTLOOSE! (MVT), Saraghina in NINE (DHT), Maggie Jones in 42ND STREET (DHT), Gymnasia in A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM (ACT), and the Fortune Teller in SIDE SHOW (MVT), among many others, including working on the popular television series, LOST.

Since arriving back home, Kristi has been involved in many productions including stage managing WEST SIDE STORY, THE KING AND I, MISS SAIGON, and SECRET GARDEN for ACT, and THE TELEPHONE and THE MEDIUM at the Hawaii Theatre (Golden Key Productions), and choreographing the past 7 seasons at Central Theatre Arts Academy, in their productions of ANNIE, YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, CINDERELLA, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, AIDA, and THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE.

On top of all that, she was also made the Artistic Director of O`ahu Arts Center, where she directed (and often choreographed) their musical productions of WIZARD OF OZ, HONK!, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, and ALICE IN WONDERLAND.

Three years ago, she decided to originate a new community theatre group, which focused on family entertainment, where adults and children could work together to create phenomenal musical productions.

Diamond in the Rough Productions was born, and has since produced musicals, incorporating guest directors, choreographers, and artists, to work with our local children, ensuring they get a true professional experience, at the community theatre level.

Kristi has directed the past two seasons of their shows, including the recent community theatre premiere of CAMP ROCK THE MUSICAL.

Kristi also dabbles as a casting assistant and manager for local and national film, web, and television projects.

Her ultimate goal is to encourage the passion her students have for the performing arts, and to prepare them to be professionals in the performance industry, at all ages and skill levels.

She truly loves her students, and believes in all they can accomplish.

Dreams are completely within reaching distance, if given the proper tools, and with the right amount of perseverance, support, and training.
